Standley Lake Spillway

Still nursing the knee. It seems like it flares after a run regardless of the intensity but especially after harder efforts. Against better judgement I went out for my normal planned Intervals on Wednesday.

3x 12 Minutes Intervals did not feel good while I was running. That should have been a key to pull the plug but I was making decent pace still at my target threshold heart rate. It did seem to loosen up as I went so I stuck with it. Afterwards it was more sore than it normally was after running which was a concern.

The following day the pain was still quite strong and I decided to take a break yet again until it calmed down. I wish I had played it more smartly and stopped when I felt the pain during the run.

Friday we traveled to KC for the holidays to spend time with family with us arriving on Saturday.

Sunday I decided to run again and went out for a classic loop around the Bridal trail at Wyandotte County Lake Park. Roughly 10.3 miles with about 1600-1800' of climbing depending on who you ask. Last year I ran it after Ozark Trail 100 in a minute or two faster so at least I am holding fitness even with the down time and potential issues with my knee.
